Flags on Fifth

Along Fifth Avenue, the flow of passersby moves between buildings. A papal flag stands out on the facade of a building, while other American flags repeat along the street. Some people rest on the steps, offering a stopping point in the continuous movement of the city.
The vertical framing emphasizes the upward sweep of the buildings and the depth of the street. The use of an intermediate aperture (f/5) keeps the entire scene in focus, from the foreground figure to the background architecture, describing the density of the urban space.
