Plumb Line

A vertical thread, the only element in focus, runs through the image, dividing the space. Behind this line, a young figure is absorbed, their face and gestures rendered as a blurred presence. Other figures inhabit the background planes, dissolved in an environment that suggests a collective activity.
The use of a very wide aperture (f/2) reduces the depth of field to a single plane, isolating only a vertical thread. This compositional choice, combined with high ISO sensitivity that produces noticeable grain, relegates the human figures and the surrounding space to an indistinct background.
