Shape of the Void

Viewed from above, the everyday object sheds its function to become pure form. Its almost abstract geometry, a white oval that receives and repels the gaze, is the threshold of a silent void. A small monument to absent intimacy, a relic of human passage.
The wide aperture (f/1.8) isolates the subject from its context, giving it a sculptural quality. This choice, combined with the vertical perspective of the 50mm, transforms a common object into a graphic sign, almost a portrait.
