Rock Frontier
by Davide Terrile·Support
The low sun on the horizon divides the scene into two registers: the intense light of the sky and its reflection on the sea, and the compact darkness of the cliff in the foreground. The rocks, reduced to pure silhouettes, stand out as a jagged frontier between the elements.
The backlit shot is managed with a reduced aperture (f/10) to maintain sharpness on all planes and a very fast shutter speed to avoid overexposing the sky. This technical choice transforms the rocky mass into a sharp silhouette, focusing attention on its shape and the contrast with the bright surface of the sea.
