Geometry of Sand

A dune rises with a sharp profile, defined by the contrast between its sunlit face and the side in deep shadow. The undulating lines of sand in the foreground guide the eye toward an interplay of curves that fade into the landscape.
The image is built on a balance between the tactile texture of the sand and the almost abstract masses of the dunes. The use of a small aperture (f/10) ensures a large depth of field, making the different planes of the landscape legible and highlighting its graphic dimension.
