The Nearby Body
by Davide Terrile·Support
The view of the open sea is interrupted by a side frame and the curve of a fender. The horizon cuts the frame with precision, separating the rippled surface of the water from a uniform sky. A tension emerges between the nearby space, defined by onboard objects, and the distance.
The composition is built on a rigorous geometry: the horizon line divides the space, contrasted by the curved shape of the fender in the foreground and the vertical frame on the left. The f/4 aperture keeps the nearby object in focus without dissolving the texture of the sea in the background.
