Intervals
by Davide Terrile·Support
Some donkeys are lined up along a tall concrete wall that occupies the central band of the image. The repetition of the vertical pillars frames the space, and the animals are positioned at irregular intervals in this geometric setting. A sharp diagonal shadow cuts across the wall, creating a strong contrast with the full daylight.
The image is constructed on a rigid horizontal division between the field, the wall, and the sky. The choice of a small aperture (f/8) guarantees an extended depth of field, clearly rendering both the textures of the grassy foreground and the surface of the structure.
