The Interval
by Davide Terrile·Support
At the ends of the horizon, two trees define the scale of the landscape. The dense, dark shape of one contrasts with the bare structure of the other, establishing a visible distance. In between, the surface of the water and a line of clouds separate the land from a compact, uniform sky.
The composition is built on a rigid horizontal layering, compressed by the use of a telephoto lens (150mm). The sky, rendered almost black, creates a strong contrast with the luminous band of clouds and water, isolating the silhouettes of the two trees.
