The Suspended Hour

Hands hide the face, a gesture that protects or conceals the fatigue of the end of the day. On the table, everyday objects are silent presences in a time that seems to have stopped. Only the weight of an absorbed hour remains.
The wide aperture (f/2.8) in low light conditions isolates the figure, detaching it from the context and focusing attention on the emotional impact of the gesture. The high ISO accepts grain as a textural element, consistent with the rawness of the scene.
