The Last Bend

An asphalt road leads into the port area, a boundary between the geometries of work and the natural outline of the coast. The cranes stand out like motionless presences against the light of the sea, while the vegetation on the right creates an organic counterpoint to a landscape defined by industrial function.
The composition is built around the curve of the road, which leads the eye toward the center of the image. The backlighting and narrow aperture (f/9) transform the complex industrial structures into sharp silhouettes, heightening the tension between the vertical lines of the cranes and the horizontality of the sea.
