The Threshold

From the darkness of the portico, life flows past the threshold of light. Empty chairs await, a memory of a pause or a promise of return, while figures pass, ephemeral, in the dazzling white of summer.
The use of the 17mm wide-angle lens enhances the depth of the stone vault. The exposure, calculated to preserve detail in the shadows of the passage (1/160s, f/4), accepts the overexposure of the external light, transforming it into an abstract and blinding threshold.
