The Crossing

A figure seen from behind crosses an empty expanse, bounded only by the horizon line. Their path seems to trace a possible way forward in a landscape devoid of landmarks, dominated by the sky.
The vertical composition divides the image into two almost equal parts, earth and sky, with the human figure as the sole vertical element breaking the space. The wide-angle focal length (18mm) amplifies the perception of space, pushing the horizon into the distance.
