The Dirt Road

A dirt road cuts through a flat landscape, drawing a straight line between two wings of shrubby vegetation. The path guides the eye toward a distant horizon, beneath a vast sky that occupies most of the frame. The image conveys the geography of an open space, where the only built element is the track of the path itself.
The composition is built on a central perspective, with the road serving as a vanishing line toward a low horizon. The choice of a standard focal length (34mm) and a medium aperture (f/5.6) ensures a large depth of field, depicting with equal sharpness the vegetation at the edges of the path and the clouds in the distance.
