From the deck of a ferry, passengers watch the island emerging on the horizon. A man shields his eyes from the sun, another raises a phone to photograph the scene—gestures that belong to the experience of travel. The profile of the mountain, the low clouds, and the contrail of an airplane compose a landscape where glances and trajectories converge.

The framing is split between the foreground on the boat and the long shot of the island, creating a dialogue between the journey and the destination. The use of a wide-angle lens (19mm) accentuates the depth of the scene, including the passengers as witnesses to the space unfolding before them.
