Inner Horizon

by Davide Terrile·Support

There is a point where the gaze surrenders and turns inward, seeking shelter. The landscape behind expands, immense and silent. All the weight of the sky rests on that fragile curve.

The f/4 aperture at close range creates a selective depth of field, isolating the child's profile and transforming the landscape into pure abstraction. The extremely fast shutter speed (1/4000s) freezes the instant and manages the daylight, sculpting volumes with a sharp contrast that sacrifices detail in the shadows in favor of the subject's intimacy.

Optimal print at 300 PPI

42.7 × 28.5 cm — 16.81 × 11.21″

Also suitable for close viewing.

Large-format print at 200 PPI

64.1 × 42.7 cm — 25.22 × 16.82″

Spreads the same original pixels over a larger surface (1.5× per side compared to 300 PPI), without interpolation or changes to the file. Recommended for a viewing distance of about 80–90 cm or more; very close up (~20 cm) grain, noise or minor imperfections may become noticeable. The result also depends on the photograph, the paper and the printing process.
