Coastal Passage
by Davide Terrile·Support
The path of the road follows the edge of a fence, a man-made line set against the sea horizon. An imposing tree punctuates the space and introduces the curve that hides the continuation of the way. The light, almost backlit, defines the surface of the water and the vegetation, leaving part of the track in shadow.
The use of a telephoto lens (138mm) compresses the perspective planes, bringing the horizon closer to the foreground elements. The aperture stopped down to f/10 ensures an extensive depth of field, while the side light highlights the textures and draws the shadows on the road.
