The surface of the sea borders a concrete platform where parasols and sunbeds are aligned in a precise geometry. Everything seems to be in its place, in an order that the absence of people renders almost abstract. The only misalignment comes from the sharp shadows cast by the direct light.

The near-zenith shot and the use of a very narrow aperture (f/20) transform the scene into a two-dimensional map, ensuring great depth of field. The harsh light creates strong contrast, defining a rhythmic pattern of objects and shadows on the concrete surface.
