Outpost in the Desert

A low building stands out against an expanse of sand. Two figures inhabit the scene: one is engaged in an activity near an opening, while the other sits on the crest of a dune. The objects arranged outside document the practical necessities of life in this place.
The composition places the architecture as a focal point between the sand and the bright, almost empty sky. Closing down the aperture (f/10) keeps both foreground details and the figure on the dune in focus, connecting distant spatial planes. The intense light carves sharp shadows and defines the geometries of the scene.
