Waiting Skeleton

Docked in port, the boat rests like a metallic animal after exertion. The nets piled on deck retain the memory of the sea and the smell of salt. Every rope, every pulley is a sign of the work to come.
The closed aperture (f/8) and wide-angle focal length (17mm) yield a large depth of field, describing with equal sharpness the tools in the foreground and the imposing structure of the fishing vessel. The fast shutter speed crystallizes the scene in the harsh late afternoon light, enhancing the materiality of the surfaces.
